About Bella
Bella is a miniature pig who has been a pet since she was a little piglet. Her owners surrendered her because they were moving to suburbia. Bella is friendly with people and used to dogs. However, she has her own little piggy ways and needs a large securely fenced yard where she can snuffle up a few grass roots occasionally and have a shallow pool for wallowing in. She used a paddle pool at one stage. She likes a couple of bales of straw to sleep in and needs a small shed or a very large kennel where she will be protected from the rain and cold. Her fencing needs to be strong with large posts preferably set in cement and strong secure wire to ensure that she does not escape and come to harm (like someone eating her for dinner!!!).
I am told she weighs about 60 or 70 kilos.
Adoption details
Advertisement on PetRescue. I talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
I arrange a meeting with the animal and If all goes well completion of paperwork and payment is done through my vet. The adopter gets a receipt from the vet surgery.
I keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
