About Ella *On Trial in Her New Home*
*ELLA IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME* Ella is bursting with puppy love and playfulness! She’s looking for an owner who will spend the time helping her reach her full potential; will it be with you??
Gorgeous Ella with her soft, wavy coat of many colours has a wonderful temperament and is full of fun and energy. Having a mix of working dog genes she is intelligent and learns quickly, always wanting to please her humans – she’s the kind of pup who would excel at dog obedience classes and the fact that she’s food driven definitely helps with her training. As she’s in foster care on acreage she still needs to learn how to walk on a lead, however her eagerness for new smells and experiences would help accomplish this in a short time.
Ella socialises well with other dogs and loves to cuddle up with them at sleep time. She does not possess a dominant disposition and displays gentle behaviour with older or less able dogs. Cats are a curiosity to her and she just wants to make friends rather than harm them though her foster carers cats don’t always see her approaches this way! However she would settle into a home that also had a cat quite comfortably. \ Ella is playful around children so a home with older kids would suit her better as she may accidentally bowl the little ones over with her puppy exuberance.
Recently rescued from our local pound Ella is experiencing the joys of indoor / outdoor living, which we’d love to see continued in her forever home, and she has learnt to use a doggie door. She has been undergoing toilet training with a few ‘hits and misses’ along the way though with consistent guidance and patience she’ll soon get the hang of the routine in her new home.
It is clear that feed time has previously been a free for all for poor Ella; a ‘first in best dressed’ scenario as she will scoff her meals like it’s the last one she’ll ever receive though being bright she is beginning to understand she will not miss out and this will require ongoing reassurance – perhaps a ‘scoff bowl’ would help too.
With her cattle dog background Ella will require regular exercise - confinement to a backyard with no daily stimulation could result in destructive behaviour due to boredom, so she would benefit from a playful canine companion if you’re away for much of the day at work. Daily walks, secure fencing, obedience classes and toys to play with will make energetic Ella very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
