About Sparky (On Trial 29/9/14)
Sparky is a male, 6 month old, kelpie puppy. He is very playful and affectionate. He has a lot of energy and likes to play with his current canine friends for as long as they will let him. Once he has tired them out, he moves on to playing with his chew toys and exploring the yard. He is looking for a family who will share his active lifestyle and provide him with lots of toys and activities to keep him entertained during the day.
Sparky is a very pretty boy with his soft fawn and white coat and intense, golden eyes.
Sparky loves children, but might be best in a family with older kids as he may accidentally knock over young ones when he gets excited. Sparky is great with dogs and cats, and although we haven’t seen him around pocket pets, I think he would be just fine with them too. He can be a little bit timid with new people, but given half an hour he will be in your lap trying to cover you with kisses.
Sparky currently spends most of his day outside. He is happy there as he has other dogs to play with, and space to run around. Ideally his new home would have a good sized yard with good fencing, and a canine companion. Sparky likes to be inside with the family of an evening and overnight.
As Sparky is still just a young pup, he will need a family who are willing to invest time in manners training and housetraining.
For more information or to meet Sparky, please contact his foster carer Elizabeth on 0403 796 405 or email e_hammell@hotmail.com. Sparky is in foster care in Medowie, NSW (Port Stephens, north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Sparky's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
