About Millie ~ kelpie (On Trial 22/8/14)
Millie is a bouncy and affectionate Kelpie x. She is 18 months old and is happy, playful and curious as a puppy! She loves to play with her human and dog companions. She may be a little rough with very small dogs or children. She would be OK with smaller animals such as birds and cats as she tends to ignore them.
Millie didn’t come from the best of circumstances, therefore she is a bit shy when she first meets somebody and may bark out of nervousness. However it only takes her a couple of minutes to warm up to new people once she knows that they are not going to do her any harm.
Millie is house trained. She loves being inside, receiving cuddles and sleeping on the bed. She has lived outside her entire life up until now with very little interaction so her foster carer will only allow her to go to a person/family that will let her sleep inside and that has a lot of love to give to her. She would better in a home with another medium sized dog to play with, however she would cope by herself if her new owners had a lot of time to spend with her.
Millie is very active and would suit a large yard. She will need to be walked regularly (she walks well on the lead) and socialised with others to reduce her anxiety when meeting new people. Millie loves playing fetch, tug-o-war and has a variety of toys that she loves to play with. She comes when she is called and has also recently learned to sit and shake paws.
Millie is a beautiful dog and deserves a wonderful home with lots of love and attention. She will make the right person very happy with her fun loving and affectionate personality.
For more information or to meet Millie please phone foster carer Michelle on 0431-548-163. Millie is in foster care in Adamstown Heights, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Millie's adoption fee is only $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
