About Fester
Fester is just a little puppy - only 12 months of age so definitely a baby still! He has had some basic training, but needs an owner that will continue to provide him with the basic training so that he can grow into a great adult dog! Right now he's still a puppy so he's got lots to learn but is very responsive to training!
We take in homeless Chihuahuas who come from all sorts of situations, and Fester was a private surrender. Due to his families circumstances, Fester was spending most of his life locked in the back yard on his own, and he wasn't coping at all. A Chihuahua needs to be part of the family, and living in the back yard on his own is no life for a Chihuahua! So his owner surrendered him into our care for us to rehome him.
Fester is supposed to be a purebred long haired Chihuahua, we're not quite sure about that, we think he might be crossed with a bat! But what we do know is that he is pure adorable!!!
Fester will be ready for adoption soon, he came to us without his veterinary work being up to date, so he has been to the vets this week for full vet checks and desexing and to get his vaccines up to date.

Medical notes
Fester has been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. He has had a heartworm test and the result was negative. He has been given parasite prevention.
Whilst in our care, Fester has been fed on high quality Hills Science Diet food. We offer a free post-adoption health check with our vets at Greencross Indooroopilly!
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
