About Torro
Torro is a 5 year old Chihuahua who has lots of spunk. He is full of character, and loves affection. Torro loves driving around in the car, especially looking out the window at people passing by. He loves playing with other dogs and running around and around and around doing zoomies! Torro adores going for walks, and this is one of the many reasons he has been in care for so long, we are doing everything we can to bring Torro back to being a healthy, happy dog. However, poor Torro has had years of pain and suffering in his short life due to complex medical issues that we are currently treating.
Torro loves other dogs, he is happiest when snuggled up with another little dog, and we would love him to go to a home with another dog. He gets along great with all different sizes of dogs, both big and little, and is used to living with cats.
Due to the ongoing pain and suffering Torro has endured, he is not suitable to a home with children. He is a loyal and loving dog, but he needs gentle handling and committed owner who will continue to provide him with the medical care he requires.

Medical notes
Torro is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated with regular flea, worm and heartworm prevention.
Torro has had to have a partial penis amputation due to a growth that did not heal after it was removed. This has caused meant he has had to endure many months living in a shelter and vet hospital environment, so he deserves a loving home that will remain committed to providing him with outstanding medical care.
Torro recently had surgery to repair his right patella, as he had a permanently dislocated knee. He is recovering well from this surgery and is enjoying resting up and being in a home environment. He also has a heart murmur, however this is not currently requiring medication.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
