At just 3.5kg, 7 month old Bowie, is the perfect lapdog and loves nothing

more then snuggling up with you. If you are looking for a loving and faithful

companion, look no further.

Despite Bowie’s loving nature he has had a rough start in life. Dumped at the

pound at 5 months of age and severely underweight, it took him 24 hours to

gain the physical strength to be able to stand up and a further week to stand for

any length of time. Sadly his early life has impacted on him. While he can now

run around and is beginning to enjoy his daily walks, his front legs are bowed

and this may cause him arthritis in later life. Both back patellas will need to be

operated on (at Starting Over Rescue’s vet and expense) when he has stopped

growing.

Initially very timid and scared of everything, he is slowly coming out of his shell

and becoming the playful happy puppy he should have always been. He has even

learnt to play with the other dogs in the house! Bowie’s new owner will need to

have patience with him, as he clearly missed being socialised during the early

crucial months.

Bowie is a loving tiny dog and he is slowly overcoming his rough start.

Undoubtedly after his patella operations and he is no longer in pain, with the

freedom to run around, life will become easier for our special boy. Bowie would

suit a home with another dog or someone who is home frequently and due to his

tiny size will need to be an indoor dog.
