About Moss
Hi my name is Moss and I am a big sooky boy of 9 years young. I came in with my friend Maggie and we have been reluctantly surrendered because our owners are going overseas to live and we cannot go with them.
I was previously rescued from Stafford Rescue as company to Maggie who was pretty anxious before I came along. Maggie and I are really good friends and if possible we would like to be adopted together. If not then I must go where I will have another dog companion.
Maggie is very energetic and gets me playing like a puppy again. I also really enjoy my chew toys. At night I sleep in bed with one of the children who are aged 8,10 and 13. I am fair about it though and share myself around. During the day we are kept inside and only go outside when the family are home to keep an eye on us.
I am friendly and playful towards other dogs at dog parks and ignore livestock. We presently live with a cat but SRV say that if you do happen to have one in your household you would have to introduce us very carefully as I might just view a strange cat as something to chase. \ A condition of adoption is that you carefully read the information sheets SRV have provided on the Adoption Page of their website "Important Information - Your New Dog". This is critical to ensure the safe and happy transition to a new home.
I love to sit on people just like a lap dog and also enjoy slow walks and sunbaking. I am a lovely boy and the peaceful type except when Maggie is jumping on me for some rough play. I don't like thunderstorms or other loud noises and will cry a little.
I will sit and stay for treats but have not been to formal obedience training.
Needless to say, we hate the cold and being the pampered pooches that we are we don't have to experience it. We must go to a similar home where we will be totally part of the family and spend the majority of our time inside like we do now.
We would be miserable in any other situation so please keep this in mind before you apply..
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
