About Aluka (On Trial 7/9/14) ~ Pretty Maltese
Aluka is a cheeky little bundle of fluffy love - female, Maltese x. She is 8 years old, but you could mistake her for 2 or 3. She loves attention, will roll over for rubs and will give kisses. She is affectionate and responds to love and affection. She loves company and cuddles and is currently living with another small dog and her foster mum. Aluka likes to go for a romp and a tour of the yard then will sit or lie in the sun.
Aluka loves people but doesn't like your face in her face, so she's not suited to children under 12 who may not understand.
Aluka is house trained and will use a doggy door. She is an indoor dog. She likes to be inside when people are home and sleeps in the house during the night. She gets the message when you say “no” or “uh uh” and strives to please you. She is a good car traveller, lying down and not fussing, jumping in and out by herself. She is not a fussy eater. \
Aluka is good at bath time and just looks even more fluffy and adorable after her wash and brush. She has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
She likes to go for walks, particularly on the beach. She barks at other dogs when she meets them, asserting herself because she is so little. Otherwise she barks only at a doorknock or sudden noise or birds in the garden.
Aluka's lucky forever family will be brightened by her happy and bouncy nature.
For more information or to meet Aluka, please contact her foster carer Jennifer on 0450 607 109 or email jenniefaulkner@aol.com. Aluka is in foster care in Bateau Bay on the NSW Central Coast. She is available for adoption interstate.
Aluka's adoption fee is $300 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
