About Tara (On Trial 18/10/14 ~ wolfhound x red cattle
Tara is a 16 week old wolfhound x red cattle dog puppy. Tara is an extremely playful girl, who wants to make everyone her friend. Since coming into care she has been learning doggie manners and knows how to sit, use a doggy door and is pretty much toilet trained. Tara will be a large girl when she is fully grown and is already has her own mind, so will need a home with a family willing to give her the training she requires to show her how to be even better behaved than she is now. We always recommend training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Tara gets along with other dogs big and small, although small dogs find her a bit overwhelming. She also loves wrestling and playing with her toys. She is still learning to chase a ball, and is keen to do whatever looks fun. Tara would be best in a home where there are no small children, as her size and young age may be a bit too boisterous for small children. \ Tara often forgets how long her legs are and in her excitement in getting somewhere or playing they will get in the way.

Tara is a bit of a chatterbox and you will find her having a serious conversation with herself when everyone else is too tired to play anymore. She is a real character and will make a wonderful family member for the right family. Her tail is always wagging (watch out for ornaments on low tables) and is always ready for a game.
Tara likes to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. She currently sleeps inside in her own bed, and like to cuddle with her humans in the mornings if she is allowed.
Tara isn’t a real jumper, however, likes to climb and will need secure fencing at least 6ft in order to keep her safe and away from danger in the big wide world outside.
For more information or to meet Tara, please contact her foster carer Marion on 6562-3450 or 0413-407-738 or email mcrowley@comcen.com.au. Tara is in foster care in Kempsey, NSW (3.5 hours north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Tara's adoption fee is only $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
