Many people don't consider the Greyhound breed when choosing a canine companion although those that do are sold on the breed for ever. They are gentle sweet and lazy dogs breed for short bursts of speed and not endurance which mean they like to lay around and sleep a lot. They have a very short coat which is easy to manage I have never met a Greyhound I didn't like. Our Greyhound "Cath" nick named legs by the staff has a little higher energy level than most Greyhounds but I would still say she is a lounge lizard. She likes the company of male dogs although she socialises well with male and female dogs at the shelter. She loves people and would make a wonderful companion as she is happy to lay quietly beside me while I'm working on the computer. She has a typical short Greyhound coat which is low on maintenance and she walks quietly beside you on lead. At present she is working for us minding our older pups keeping them in line.
