About Muscles ~ puppy (On Trial 21/8/14)
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: Hi there, my name is Muscles and I am a mastiff cross puppy aged 4 months who will be looking for my ideal forever home very shortly.
Even though I am only a puppy I found myself in a less than ideal situation being homeless and starving until DRN rescued me and put me in a foster home.
I haven’t let this set me back though; I am full of life and ready for my new adventures.
So far I have met both little and big dogs and get on with them all, my current foster sister is big, which is what I am going to be when I grow up, oh and also very handsome. I love to play with her and wrestle, don’t let my size fool you, what I currently lack in size I make up with heart and spunk.
I am full of personality and playfulness as you would expect from a guy my age.
She is also teaching me things like how to play tug, chase balls and relax in style of an evening. I can sit for treats and meals already, but please don’t make me wait too long, before I can have what is in front of me. I am still working on my toilet training, and will get there you just need to be patient and help me along.
My new family will not only need to be a loving one but one that would also be prepared to invest time in my training so I can become a good canine citizen. I probably would not be suited to a family with young children, not because I wouldn’t like them but purely because of my size and enthusiasm and may accidentally knock them down.
I am eager to please and love to be near you, so it would be important for me that I am allowed to spend time inside with my family and if I am required to sleep outside once I am bigger I would appreciate having my own pad which was protected from the elements.
I would not be ready to leave my foster home for a couple of weeks yet as I need to be desexed and have a second vaccination, however if you see me as a perfect fit to you family please contact my foster carers to make enquiries and complete an adoption questionnaire.
My foster carers are Karen and David and you can contact them by calling 0426876573 or by emailing kazsam66@gmail.com. I am currently in care in the Newcastle area.
Muscles’ adoption fee is $450 includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
