About Willow, dachshund x (On Trial 31/10/14 w Kat)
This is Willow, a sweet little dachshund cross who is around 5 to 6 years old. She is quite mature in outlook and would be a wonderful companion for an elderly person, but would also be a great family dog. She is a very affectionate, loves to sit on your knee or to curl up on the bed with you, and would be happy to follow you everywhere you went, if only it were possible!
Willow has a lovely shiny black coat which is easy-care. Although she is a dachshund cross her body is not as long as a dachshund, and her legs are longer and not so stumpy, which is healthier for a dog.
Willow mixes well with other dogs of any size, and occasionally will join in a bit of wrestling around the back yard, but mostly she behaves just like a little lady. She sits when asked, and interacts well with children.
Willow will run out of the front door if you're not careful. For this reason we prefer that her new owner has a front fence and gate or a baby gate inside the door to help prevent mishaps.
For more information or to meet Willow please phone foster carer Lynda on 02-4987-1213 after 7pm Monday-Wednesday or anytime rest of the week, or text 0401-264-514 or email dogshouse@tpg.com.au. Willow is in foster care near Raymond Terrace, NSW (north of Newcastle).
Willow's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
