About Jayda the Dachshund (On Trial 15/9/14)
Meet Jayda, a delightful little dachshund cross around 19 months old. She has a sweet face, and a sweet and perky little personality to go with it, and has brought lots of joy and amusement along with her to her foster-carer’s house.
This little girl loves cuddles, and is fairly convinced that everyone’s knee has been tailor-made for her to sit on. She never misses an opportunity to try and settle on your lap, or to curl up next to you on the bed, if you’ll let her. She’s also a bit of a sticky-beak, and closely watches everything you’re doing, follows you all around the house, and has a good look and a sniff at anything you’re handling, as if to say “what are you doing now?” If I feels like a nice relaxing bath at the end of the day, Miss Jadya perches on the tiled edge and looks at all the pretty bubbles until the plug comes out.
Jayda is currently living with a number of other dogs, big and small, and gets on with them all. She is very playful, especially with other small dogs.
Her coat, which is black and shiny, is short and easy-care. She sits when asked, walks quite quickly on the lead but, as she is only small, it’s not really very fast. She enjoys a ride in the car.
There are no children living at her our house, but Jayda has met visiting children without any sign of anxiety or aggression, and was happy playing with them.
As Jayda has lived with her mother Willow (also available) all her life she would be best placed in a home where someone is home most of the time, or else where there is another dog to keep her company. She needs to be a member of the family, included in the family’s activities (indoors and out), and given all the love that she so deserves.
For more information or to meet Jayda please phone foster carer Lynda on 02-4987-1213 after 7pm Monday-Wednesday or anytime rest of the week, or text 0401-264-514 or email dogshouse@tpg.com.au. Jayda is in foster care near Raymond Terrace, NSW (north of Newcastle).
Jayda's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
