About Summer
Summer is delightful! She is happy, social and loves everyone she meets. Summer is great with kids and other pets.
Summer is being fostered in a home with small children, and she is gentle and well behaved. Her foster family also have a greyhound, who she loves to snuggle with and play a few games! Although she is a little foxie who loves a walk and a play, she is not as high energy as many of her breed. She is quite happy to be a couch potato as well!
Summer is super affectionate, she just loves to give everyone kisses and is very sweet and cuddly.
Summer is one of our beloved pseudo-chihuahuas: a little dog that needed our help, regardless of it's breed. We might be called Chihuahua Rescue Qld, but if there are other little dogs that we have room to save, we will always help where we can. We love our pseudo-Chihuahuas just as much as our real Chihuahuas!

Medical notes
Summer had a history of pancreatitis, which means she will need to remain on a low fat diet long term. She is currently on medication, which we hope to wean her off over the next month. She does love her food, so requires an owner who is willing to stick to a good diet for her, to ensure she doesn't become sick again. With a good diet, there is no reason why Summer can't live a happy and healthy life.
Summer is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has been tested for heartworm and is on regular parasite prevention.
Summer is eating Hills Science Diet low-fat food which is keeping her healthy and happy!
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
