About Foldy - Special Needs
Foldy is a very special boy, looking for a very special home!
Foldy came into care with his brother, who sadly passed away from kidney failure, despite our best efforts, due to the neglect the boys suffered, prior to coming into care.
When Foldy arrived, he could barely walk, he had over time, developed massive cartilage growths on his back hocks, causing him extreme pain and making it virtually impossible for him to walk.
The condition Foldy has is called Osteochondrodysplasia (an overview can be found here - http://www.ufaw.org.uk/OSTEOCHONDRODYSPLASIASCOTTISHFOLD.php). There is no cure for this condition, but through a course of treatments, we have greatly increased Foldy's movement and reduced his pain. He now walks quite freely, but does still occasionally stiffen up, and may require further anti inflammatories in the future (which will be discussed with his new family) to help with this.
Despite his past and his condition, Foldy is the sweetest little munchkin you'll ever meet! This is what his foster mum and dad had to say -
"Looking for a spunky man that will give you endless cuddles and a nice large calming purr to put you to sleep after a stressful day? Then foldy is your man!!
Foldy is a chilled out boy that needs nothing more then a nice comfy warm place to curl up and sleep (preferably your lap) loves to just snuggle on your chest and into your shoulder and sit and sleep with you. Foldy is a loving man and has so much love and company to give, doesn't get into any trouble just loves to smooch eat and relax! he loves to just stay inside in the warmth and relax on his own if his human isn't home or chill on their lap if they are home.
Foldy is in care with a chihuahua that he is fine with and other cats he is also fine with because he is so chilled and relaxed!"
Foldy is looking for his very special forever home. This will be a mature, adult home that is single storey, as we don't want to risk him struggling on stairs and he will need to be strictly indoor only. His forever home will need to be prepared to take him to the vet for anti-inflammatories and or Cartrophen injections, if and when he needs them in the future, though we don't expect this to be very often.
Foldy is in care in Ringwood.
Medical notes
Foldy goes to his new home desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and current in vaccinations.
