About George
George is a very sweet boy. He loves nothing more then a cuddle, and fell asleep in my arms within minutes of me lifting him onto my lap. George is a social old chap, enjoying the company of other dogs. George is currently living in a foster home with some little Chihuahuas, and some big Staffys, and he gets along well with everyone.
George is one of our beloved pseudo-chihuahuas: a little dog that needed our help, regardless of it's breed. We might be called Chihuahua Rescue Qld, but if there are other little dogs that we have room to save, we will always help where we can. We love our pseudo-Chihuahuas just as much as our real Chihuahuas!
We have temperament tested George with cats, and he has had two very different reactions. When the cats were running around loose with him, he just ignored them and paid them no attention at all. However then when he saw a kitten in a crate, he got very excited and barked and barked. We think this might be a result of being in a shelter environment. However, his foster carer has cats and he is happily living with them.
He loves his food, and walked around for over an hour carrying his prized pigs ear treat every where he went! He has lots of character and lots of love to give!

Medical notes
George is being treated for a skin condition, which is clearing up really well thanks to the love and care of his foster carer. He requires regular medicated baths, and we will provide his shampoo and conditioner to the family that adopts him.
He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated with parasite prevention.
George is being fed on Royal Canin food with some yummy supplements to help his coat get healthy again.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
