About Diamond (On Trial 17/8/14)
Twinkle twinkle little star, a forever home isn't very far. Diamond, 3yo, male, Maltese x, is a little star of a dog. He loves to be with you and follow you everywhere you go. He loves to jump up into your lap for cuddles. Diamond loves to have your attention. He sits quietly at my feet while I am cooking and hangs out in the bathroom while my kids are bathing. He is very devoted and is waiting for a home where he will receive the same treatment.
Diamond is living with children aged 3 and over and would suit a family with children aged from 3 and over or where someone is home a lot of the time. He is living with cats and has no issues at all with them, even happily lying next to them. Diamond is in care with other small dogs and really enjoys their company. His ideal home is one where there is another doggy friend for him. When going for walks Diamond behaves beautifully when meeting other dogs, big and small.
Diamond has a fluffy, non-shedding coat which will need a bath every 3 or so weeks and a trim every 8 weeks. He loves to be brushed. Diamond has just been treated for infections in both his ears. He will need his ears cleaned every 2 to 3 weeks to prevent further infections.
Diamond is doing well with toileting and knows how to use our doggy door. He is happy to have a wander around the yard in the morning but needs to be allowed access to the house as he will scratch and fret otherwise. He is used to sleeping on people beds at night.
Diamond is in foster care in Corlette, NSW, Port Stephens. For further details please contact his carer Michelle on 0423266911 or email furryfullhouse5@gmail.com
Diamond's adoption fee is only $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
