Jasper (On Trial 7/8/14)

Hi, my name is Jasper, my friends call me Jazzy. I’m a 3 year old Shih Tzu x Maltese cross boy who loves to snuggle. I’m a healthy, happy and gentle boy who is looking for a family that will love me forever.

I love kids but don’t like cats very much. I enjoy playing with my furry foster brother and we wrestle around and play tag. I have an older blind foster sister, and I am very gentle around her. My favourite thing in the world is snuggling with my foster mummy or daddy. \ My foster mum thinks I’m a cuddly puff ball, and when my foster dad gets home from work I nearly turn inside out, I’m just that happy to see him!

I enjoy my daily trit trot around the neighbourhood, discovering all the different smells and saying hello to everyone I meet. Going places with my family is one of the best things to do! The beach is great fun, although I am a bit scared of the waves. I am a very good boy in the car.

I am not a fussy eater, (in fact I lick my chops when I know my dinner is coming), and have gobbled up everything that has been offered to me. I like treats and chews as well. \ I don’t bark unnecessarily, but I do like to protect my home by letting everyone know if I see something I think is strange, and I also do a backyard perimeter check every night after dinner.

My bed is on the bedroom floor, and I am happy to sleep there all night, and even happier on the bed with my foster parents. I am toilet trained and have started using the doggie door. I tend to ‘mark’ if I can smell where another dog might have wee'd, but I wear a belly band inside (its soft and comfy so I don’t mind at all), and I am learning not to mark.

Ideally, my new home would have someone who is home a lot of the time, or have a doggie brother or sister to hang out with, and kids would just be the icing on the cake! I am a quiet little bloke who is looking for a home where I will be loved forever. My foster mum says she is going to miss me like crazy, but will be happy to know that I have my very own family to look after me.

I have a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 6 to 8 weeks) to keep me comfortable and beautiful.
