Toby *On Trial in His New Home*

*TOBY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Meet Toby!! A change in his owners circumstances meant they could no longer afford to keep the little guy so they made the tough decision to surrender him to us for rehousing, and we’ve promised to find him a loving forever home; will it be with you??

Sadly moving from home to home has left Toby feeling a little anxious and he doesn’t like being separated from his humans for too long, so he’d be best suited to a home with a retiree or someone who works from home – he will make a loving and loyal companion and a terrific little lapdog. \

Loveable Toby is a friendly, affectionate little dog with loads of personality who just adores cuddles and spending time either beside you or on your lap. He’s settled into foster care where his carer’s own Border Collie’s have been showing him the ropes. This little bundle of love enjoys his daily trips to the Murray River where you’ll find him wanting to go for a dip even at this chilly time of year; he’s a real water dog! He walks well on a lead and has good recall when off. Clever Toby has even mastered his carer’s doggie door and now takes himself outside when he needs to do his ‘business’. He’s also a terrific little watchdog letting you know when someone comes to the door.

Toby sleeps inside at night usually in his foster carers bedroom where he’ll sneak up onto the bed and snuggle in under the covers if he can get away with it! \ He’s one of those dogs who like to burrow under a blanket on the couch for a snooze especially during the winter months as he’s not a fan of doggie coats tending to take them off as quickly as you can put them on him!

Being a Maltese x Toby doesn’t shed hair though he’ll require a good brush once a week and a clip a few times a year to keep his coat in tip-top condition. Secure fencing, chicken necks to chew, toys to play with and lots of attention will make Toby very happy indeed! Although Toby is fine around other dogs he’d prefer to live in a home where he can have his humans all to himself as he does tend to get a bit bossy when living with another dog.
