About Jake (On Trial 19/8/14)
Jake loves to bake! A 12 month old Shi Tzu x Maltese and is about as cute as they come! He loves to lie under the lounge room window in the sun on his back with his little legs in the air. Occasionally he will swat the air like a cat whilst dreaming and wake himself up.
He is great with children even the younger ones which can be a bit rougher - currently he lives with an infant, a 4 and 7 year old who are all in love with him.
However his best mate is his nine year old foster fur brother (medium size Cavoodle) who adores him. They never argue about anything, food, cuddles, beds are all shared.
His coat in non shedding and silky soft so he is ideal for us allergy sufferers. Jake could be considered a bit of a Houdini as his small size allows him to squeeze under gates and currently his recall skills could improved. He is learning to sit and wait but dislikes shaking though he is getting less sensitive about getting his paws touched - an inquisitive teething baby foster sister will do that for you!
Jake loves his toy which he adopted on his first day with us and he really enjoys fetch.
His ideal family will want to spend lots of cuddle time and have children who he can cuddle up to but keep some distance from if he feels overwhelmed. They will love to take him for a daily walk. Jake is scared of all doors and must be coaxed through them. He will scratch at the door when he needs to go out but is still in training as he sometimes leaves it a bit late.
This quirky little guy will very quickly own your heart and make his way into your warm loving arms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
