About Lucy the Cavalier (On Trial 10/8/14)
Lucy is an adorable, purebred, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 8 years old. She loves nothing better than a long walk and then to watch TV on the couch. She is wonderful with children. She has lived with other dogs and is fine with them. We are not sure whether she has lived with cats. Lucy lives inside, with access to a garden where she loves to spend some of her day.
Lucy is available for adoption to someone who is home most of the time and doesn’t have children under 6 years old. Lucy it totally housetrained. She is an inside dog and needs to be inside with the family, especially after dusk.
Lucy was surrendered with very bad ear issues and Dog Rescue Newcastle vets have treated them. Lucy was given the all clear by the vet in May this year. Since May there has been no recurrence of any problems so we are very confident that she is over the problem. Cavaliers are prone to ear problems so Lucy is to be adopted only to a family who is aware of this and would seek veterinary attention for her should this ever happen again. Her ears are also the reason why small children are not suitable for Lucy because they accidently might pull or hurt her ears.
If you would like to express an interest in Lucy please download an Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf then email it to moorefieldsfarm@bigpond.com. Or send an email and Caroline will email the form back to you.
For more information, please contact Caroline on 02-4983-1748 or email moorefieldsfarm@bigpond.com. Lucy is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. Lucy is not available for adoption interstate.
Lucy's adoption fee is $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
