About Jet *On Trial in His New Home*
*JET IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* \ Looking for a well-behaved Border Collie without going through the pesky puppy-stage??? \ Then you can’t go past Jet and his lovely manners!
A relationship breakup saw Jet move in with another family member though already having 2 dogs of their own plus a baby on the way meant the situation wasn’t ideal so they contacted us SARG folk for help and we’ve promised to find Jet a special home of his own.
Clever-boy Jet knows “sit” and “drop” and he loves food (especially treats!) which has resulted in him being a bit on the chubby side, so whoever adopts Jet will need to put him on a strict diet! Being food-orientated will certainly help with any further training you’d like to do with him – being a Border Collie he is keen to learn and eager to please his humans. This friendly, affectionate young dog rarely jumps up making him a pleasure to be around and he’s not at all licky or in your face and only barks for a reason. Living on a rural property Jet could do with some practice on a lead as he rarely needs to wear one; lucky he also knows his name and has good recall. Jet really loves water and thoroughly enjoys his trips to the Murray River for a run and a swim although a backyard kiddie pool in the summer months will also do the trick and keep him cool.

Jet is terrific with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and he’s currently living with 2 female dogs of a similar size and they all get along famously. He’s also fine around his carers sheep and goats though not so good around feathered critters – Jet and their other dogs took a particular liking to their chooks so they now have to buy their eggs from the supermarket! We’re not sure how he’d go living with a cat, his carers cats tend to hide when the dogs come inside, but we think with careful, slow introductions he’d be ok. As he’s calm and not jumpy he’s great around children and appears to be over the chewing and digging stage too. \
Although Jet sleeps outside in a kennel he is well-behaved inside so we’d like to see him in an indoor/outdoor lifestyle in his forever home as Border Collie’s thrive on being part of their ‘pack’. Another friendly dog for company if you’re not home much during the day would be a must as Jet is used to having company. A good sized yard with secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to play with will make Jet very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
