About Lua (adoption pending)
This girl is a stable, self-contained girl with a great big waggie happiness to share with everyone! She's not needy with her humans, and can occupy herself without a problem, with or without canine company. She's not noisy or defensive in the yard or at the fenceline. She's a little wary of big loud people with dramatic entrances, but then who isn't!
She's a burly girl more the height of an American Staff than an English. She's not hugely familiar with the concept that human leads dog when on walks - some one told her it was the other way round, but with the right approach and equipment and a lifetime of love and patience, she'll be happy to change the roles if you're keen to take the time to teach! She isn't bothered by dogs she passes whilst walking.
She travels without fuss in the car. She loves a hug once she feels safe and can relax with you (rather than burning around with a staffy-like snort and tumble), and when she's finished playing about will choose to lie quietly beside you. She loves adventure, but is happy to chil out when it's not time to party.
She's a funny, cheeky girl who will make a toy out of anything, and rush around with simple jubilance over the littlest thing!
She's a strong-minded lady who's happy to make the rules if you're not keen, so she needs some one who appreciates that confident dogs are so very worth the time needed initially, as once you've earned their respect, they're absolutely unwavering in their life-long devotion. She seems like a girl who has lived in conjunction with people rather than as a big part of some one's life and family, which is really sad. What an honour it would be to be the person to teach this girl that laps are for snuggling on and arms are for cuddling into, and that hands soothe your lovely soft smooth coat and hold your snuffley little nose while you drift off to sleep safe in your forever home.
