About Patches (On Trial 23/8/14)
Are you looking for a cuddly friend who is soft as a teddy bear?! Patches is a 9 month old Maltese x Jack Russell boy who is ready to brighten your day. \ He enjoys his daily walks, loves to sit in your lap for cuddles and will do a happy dance each time you come through the door!
Patches perfect "furever" home would have another small dog to play with all day OR a family eager to spend lots of time with him.
Patches is an indoor dog and is house trained. He doesn't like to be outside while the rest of the family is inside and gets quite distressed until he's let in. He sleeps through the night in his bed and is very excited to say hello in the morning!
In his foster home Patches engages in high energy puppy play and loves his favourite duck toy. He hasn't yet grasped the game of fetch and seems to be more interested in following the other dog around the yard.
Patches is learning to sit and stay, especially before he receives his food. He gets very excited and sometimes needs extra prompting to stay still. He walks well on a lead, enjoys his time exploring outside of the house and he's even developed his own "show dog" strut! Patches has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 6 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Patches is a beautiful boy who will become a loving and loyal family companion. In this chilly winter weather he will be sure to keep you warm with all the cuddles he loves to give.
For more information or to meet Patches please contact his foster carer, Jeremy, on 0427 592 193. Patches is in foster care in Ashtonfield, NSW (20 minutes north of Newcastle) and is available for interstate adoption.
Patches adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
