Choco

Hi I'm Choco and boy have I had a tough time recently. My owner sadly passed away and I had to be surrendered back to the shelter. I was very sad and lost to start with and didn't want to trust new people but in the months that I've been here at the shelter I've gained my confidence back and I'm enjoying playing with other dogs in the yard and going for short walks. As you can see I'm a tripod dog and that has resulted in me packing a little extra weight. The girls here at the shelter are working hard with my diet and I've already lost 3 kg so far which is pretty cool I think. I love playing with all sorts of different toys and I can be a little bit rough at times but I don't mean to be I just get excited and for this reason I need my new owner to be careful with any young children that may give me toys to play with. My vet says that I will need a home where I don't have to climb any stairs or trek up any hills. The fact I've got three legs makes it very difficult for me to walk up and down steep things you see but I sure do love gentle walks and it really helps with my weight too. I haven't had much contact with children so I would be better suited to a home with older kids. Are you looking for someone like me who just needs that second chance in life? I have so much love to give and I just need someone to show me the kindness I so very much crave. I'm a bit older than the other pups here so I really need a home that's a bit quieter than usual.
