About Charli (On Trial 28/7/14)
Charli is a sweet and delicate 10 year old Papillion who would love to be your princess. She is very dainty in everything she does. A little lap dog, suited to a mature couple or single person who she can share her love and devotion.
Loud noises can be scary to her, so would be best suited to a sedate home. Being a mature girl, young children can be too intimidating and playful for her so she will be happiest in a home with only adults or older teenagers.
Charli has only been in care for a short period and is still becoming used to being picked up a lot and getting constant attention. The more familiar she becomes the more content she is to ask for pats and cuddles. She is well mannered and well behaved - she can sit and stay on command, being treat focused and is eager to please.
She is house trained so she will go to the toilet outside. She can get a little confused about exactly where to go outside as she's not used to getting her paws wet, so with some lead training she will get the hang of it. She walks well and beside you when on the lead. She prefers only short walks as she's not used to long walks. Sadly she doesn't understand toys, but with one on one attention over time she may learn that toys can be fun.
Charli is frightened of big dogs, but is ok with dogs the same size as her. However, she isn't playful with them, this little girl doesn't quite know what playing is! For this reason she will be more comfortable being an only dog as she thrives on human and not canine companionship.
Charli is in foster care in Mannering Park, NSW on the northern tip of the Central Coast. If you would like to meet Charli please contact Sandi on 0433 123 599 or sandiandgeoff@gmail.com.
Charli's adoption fee is only $200 includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
