** On Trial ** Walter & Winston

Walter and Winston are a regretful surrender due to an accident which has hampered their old family from continuing to look after them as they need. They just adore the boys and have helped write their profile to explain how truly amazing the boys are!

– two totally terrific dogs, admired by all who encounter them, great personalities, that great loveable beagle personality, get along with adults, children, other dogs and possibly even with politicians.
Had them since being 10 week old puppies and despite the odd chewed deck chair, dug up garden, chewed door mat etc...they are just terrific.
Beagles definitely are “their own persons”, account to nobody but them selves ( bless them) but my wife has taught them to, by hand signal, shake hands, sit, drop (lay down), beg, rollover, walk around behind etc. The secret is beagles love food, attention and love.

Walking

When one person walks the dogs, both dogs walk on the left side with Walter on the inside, always! This is an arrangement they have picked themselves and they are not happy if we try and change it. When crossing the road they will sit at the kerbside (sometimes!)

Rest Time

When inside, there is a dog bed in one corner of our living room and both dogs ultimately lie on that together. Winston always takes the position against the wall; if it’s not vacant he will climb over Walter and squeeze his way in until Walter moves. When outside, and not playing “chase me”, they will be lying on a mat together in the sun. At night time they sleep together, in-fact these boys do everything together.
