About Blue eyed Puppy Bernie (On Trial 24/8/14)
Bernie is a gorgeous 16 week old, male Staffy x Dalmatian puppy. He has started to develop black spots and has long lanky legs so he is looking more like a Dalmatian as he grows. He is such a smooch he loves nothing more than to cuddle up next to you. He loves dogs of all sizes and ages - from tiny chihuahua puppies to big adult American staffies. He is in foster care with 4 dogs and he has a great time interacting and playing with them. He is also living with 6 cats and he is gentle and friendly with them all.

He loves snuggling with the other dogs and with teddy bears at night. He loves all food and being deaf he has a very keen nose to sniff out any crumbs you've left behind. He loves chewy treats and toys to chew as he is still getting his teeth.
He is going well with his toilet training but may still have the odd accident as he is too young to have full control. He is getting better with walking on lead and harness but being only a puppy he can get a little nervous when on walks. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Bernie is a stunning boy, all white, and with one brown/blue eye and one blue eye. His sight is normal. Bernie has some reduced hearing but can hear most sounds. Don't worry, hearing impaired dogs can live quite normal lives by learning hand signals in addition to voice cues. Bernie is already learning different hand signals for different commands such as “Good Boy” and “Sit“ and will need to continue with this as he grows and learns other signals.
Bernie would best suit a home with another friendly playful dog of any size. He loves children so he would also suit a family with kids of any age.
If you would like to meet Bernie or would like to know anything more please contact his foster carer Jo on 0427 695 104 or Jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. He is in care at Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.
Bernie's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
