About Elise
Elise is a sweet natured dachshund who despite years of neglect is now delighting in receiving and giving affection. Elise enthusiastically greets you when you arrive home no matter how short the absence. Her tail does not stop wagging and she performs a twirling 'I am happy dance' around your feet. Elise's idea of heaven is to snuggle up beside you ,and be gently stroked or have an ear massage!
Elise is learning to enjoy the feel of grass under her feet, the freedom of snuffling around a garden full of interesting smells and the pleasure of going on walks. She is a pleasure to walk on the lead; there is no pulling. She likes to stop for an occasional sniff but will walk forward after a short sharp tug on the lead and the instruction "come on..let's go". Elise is beginning to feel comfortable when joggers, children on scooters, and cyclists pass by. She has learnt not bark or lunge towards dogs walking in the distance or on the other side of the street.
Elise will need basic and further training to become your ideal companion. She has spent years as a backyard breeding dog and as such has not experienced positive socialisation with other dogs except her son Rudi. Elise has been attacked by another female dog and now has an aversion to any female dog. With patience, time and controlled introductions Elise will learn to enjoy the company of other dogs.
Elise is a loveable girl deserving of a comfortable lifestyle with a forever family. She would be best suited to an adult only family and where someone is at home most of the day. Ideally Elise would be an only dog with a doting human companion.
In return for your patience, training and love Elise will be a loyal loving companion.
