On Hold
About Chester (On hold pending adoption 8/8/14)
CHESTER is a friendly and affectionate Staffy x boy of 14 months. He looks like he has some ridgeback in him I think. He is very active and just loves humans of all shapes and sizes from littlies to oldies. He is good with other dogs, not sure about cats but definitely not with chickens (live ones that is). He plays very nicely with my Staffy.
Chester loves to run around the backyard with my other dog but what he really enjoys is playing fetch with my grandkids or anyone who will join in. He loves to chase a ball and then bring it back ready for another toss.
Chester travels well in the car and happily jumps in ready to be clicked into his seat belt, then he quietly settles ready for the ride. He loves eating the raw chicken wings and beef or lamb bones, but he also happily eats his dry food and canned food so you could say he will eat anything offered.
Chester likes to be inside with his humans and to snuggle up with them but he was also used to sleeping outside in his kennel at his previous foster home. He needs to allowed inside when people are home but can sleep outside if required.
I think Chester would be happiest in a home with a couple of active kids who will play with him in the backyard and take him for walks to the park or the beach where he can run and stretch his long puppy legs.
For more information or to meet Chester please phone foster carer Michelle 0431-548-163. Chester is in foster care in Adamstown Heights, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Chester's adoption fee is only $300 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
