About Allan (On Trial 22/8/14)
Allan is a 4 yr old, male, Shih Tzu x. He is looking for love with a mature, single lady. He loves snuggles and sitting on your lap. He also like to sleep on your bed but will sleep in his own bed if required. He is house trained of course.
Allan is very cheeky and has heaps of character. He has the cutest grin which shows his little teeth. He loves to play with toys, especially squeaky toys, and is very amusing to watch. He is not destructive. He walks well on a lead and knows basic commands. He would do well with further training.
Allan knows what he likes. He is ok with men but loves all women. He isn't crazy about other dogs; he'll play with them a while then tell them to go away. He does not like cats or small animals.
Allan has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Allan has separation anxiety so he needs someone who is home with him most of the time. He'd be the most gorgeous, adoring companion for a retired lady.
For more information or to meet Allan, please contact his foster carer Cindy by email to cinadmil@yahoo.com.au. Allan is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW (northwest of Newcastle).
Allan's adoption fee is only $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
