About Minnie (On Trial 30/8/14)
Minnie, 3yo Australian Cattle Dog, is a gorgeous girl. We would like to find the perfect family for her who will have lots of love to give her, because she will give that love back a hundred times.
Minnie loves everyone, all humans, all dogs, cats are fine too. She has pretty much perfect recall (comes when called) and is wonderful on and off leash. She was probably a country dog or a backyard dog before because she gets a little bit nervous in big crowds and in a lot of traffic, but she is fine if you just give her a little reassurance. She is medium size and weighs around 20kgs.
She plays fetch and loves to play in the water although her swimming is not too good. She splashes too high with her front paws and then tries to catch the splashing water with her mouth, it's quite hilarious to watch.
So what kind of a family would be perfect for Minnie? A couple, or a family with or without children, and a bit of a yard. She doesn't need a huge yard, just regular walks. Minnie wants to sleep inside with you preferably on your bed with you (she'll learn to sleep in her own bed as well if you want). Hopefully the family has another dog as she is very playful; any size will do, she is very gentle with the little ones as well. She wants to go out for walks, visit friends and places with you, go to the beach or hike in the bush. If you take her for a car ride be careful not to forget her, she is so quite in the car that it's easy to! She would also like enough belly rubs and kisses daily, that makes her happy and it will make you happy too.
For more information or to meet Minnie please phone foster carer Laura on 0497-098-508. Minnie is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW.
Minnie's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
