About Alfie (On Trial 19/7/14)
Alfie is a 18 month old Maltese x Shih Tzu. He likes all people including children. He is currently living with another small dog and 2 cats and gets along with them fine. He is very cuddly and affectionate and loves spending time with you on the lounge. He is small for his breed.
Alfie is toilet trained must be welcome indoors whenever people are home. He likes to have access to the yard during the day. He sleeps inside on his own bed or yours.
He is not a fussy eater. He walks nicely on lead. He enjoys a drive in the car. He rarely barks which is wonderful in a dog!
Alfie has a beautiful non-shedding coat. He will need to be bathed every 2 or 3 weeks. He enjoys a bath, blow dry and daily brushing. He will need professional clipping every couple of months. His fur is currently short but needs a little more maintenance if you like to keep it longer.
Alfie would be best suited to a home where someone doesn't work full time and is looking for an affectionate and sweet little companion.
For information or to meet Alfie, please contact his foster carer Lisa on 0414 905 457 or montworth@bigpond.com. Alfie is in foster care in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Alfie's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
