Marco

Marco is a maremma cross border collie, with a beautiful, fun-loving nature. Still very much a puppy at around 15 months old, he is a big boy, and loves to play. He has been housed with a rabbit all his life, although we reccomend he be supervised around pocket pets at all times. He has been well socialised and although he barks at strangers when in his territory, he just wants to give kisses and hugs to anyone who enters. He has also been around very young kids, and although a boisterous lad, he loves kids that aren't afraid of big dogs and snuggles.

This gorgeous man would be suited to a very active lifestyle, where he would be included in family activities. Being young he needs someone who will spend a lot of time with him, and has other dogs he can play with (or lives near a dog park). Acreage is a big plus, but a large sized yard would also be fine provided his family can spend enough time walking/running him. He is used to sleeping indoors at night, where he can spend more time snuggling with you on the couch or at your feet.

During his time at the shelter, Marco has learned not to jump up for attention, not to pull on the lead, heel during walks, allow people through doors and gates first unless otherwise asked, ignore squeeling guinea pigs, sleep through the entire night (he has always been good at this) and is housetrained. He needs good leardership but is extremely responsive to training. He has also been putting on weight since he arrived, and is a big favourite amongst the other dogs (and peope alike).
