About Elise and Rudi
Elise and Rudi have not had the best start in life and have been in foster for a number of months having dental treatments, socialisation and the need to build up their weight so that their ribs were no longer so prominent.
Although they are mother and son, (9 and 6 years old) they are not co-dependent and could therefore possibly be separated so long as there is another dachshund for some company.
They have settled in extremely well and absolutely love living in a house and adore the company of their foster Mum, proving to be extremely affectionate to humans. They delight in being asked to sit on the sofa for cuddles and will remain there quite contentedly by your side for as long as they're allowed.
Both love their walks and walk well on a lead without pulling but still need more socialisation when other dogs pass. They have been assessed by a trainer and neither of them are inherently aggressive, with both retreating from threatening sources and their new owner will need to continue with training.
Elise has been attacked by a female dog before and as a result has taken a dislike to female dogs.
Rudi can be quite anxious and hesitant with men until he gets to know you.
They both love going for rides in the car and have adapted to their crate as a safe haven.
A very affectionate pair of dachshunds who have a lot of love, affection, loyalty and companionship for the right couple. Not suitable for young children.
