About Ellie (On Trial 1/9/14)
Ellie is a gorgeous 12-year-old pure bred Kelpie. She is a huge softy and has a beautiful nature.
Ellie is a very special girl with a big heart. She has a beautiful, gentle soul and is very polite and well-mannered.
She is great with other dogs. Her age does not keep her from play fighting with her younger foster friend. She is in great shape and loves a walk. She is great to take on a walk - she keeps on your left and sits at roads. She can sometimes pull slightly on the lead but for the most part Ellie is an absolute delight on a walk.
All she wants is human company. Ellie loves getting any attention from her human companions but also loves to just be with you. She loves giving hugs, and when she does she demands all of your attention. She does this by putting her paws on either shoulder and gives you some very loving licks on your chin.
Ellie does get anxious when left outside, especially with no company of other dogs or people and will bark and whine if left outside. She gets especially anxious when she sees people leave.
Ellie will need to be an inside dog. Ideally she will need to go to a home where someone is always there and will give her plenty of love and attention. She will make an amazing companion, as she is unfussy, well mannered, obedient and gentle.
Ellie is remarkable dog and has a lot of love to give, and will make someone very happy.
For more information or to meet Ellie, please contact her foster carer Abby on 0401 794 212 or email abby_507@hotmail.com. Ellie is in foster care in Waratah, NSW (Newcastle).
Ellie’s adoption fee is only $150 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
