About Liberace
Liberace came from Renbury Farm Pound in absolutely appalling condition and this poor little Poodle had been neglected for so long that it is beyond his rescuer's comprehension how he actually survived. Liberace was emaciated and had to have every tooth in his mouth removed as it was full of pus and, according to the vet, he had suffered in agony for a very long time. Liberace is now on four different types of medication and pain relief to ensure that the infection is cleared up very quickly. He also had an inguinal testicle that was removed from his stomach while he was having his desexing surgery. Aside from his mouth, the vet believes that Liberace has had a broken leg at some stage during his life and it's obvious that the break was not attended to and the leg was left to heal itself so that meant more pain and suffering for this little Poodle! X-rays have now been taken and sent off to an orthopaedic vet to see if we can do surgery to correct the bend in Liberace's leg but he is not in pain from it now that it has fused at the joint. Apart from all of his pain and suffering, Liberace is a great little Poodle that is enjoying being part of a doggy family in his foster home and he loves to lay in his bed all warm and cosy with the heater blowing on him. Liberace is currently on a diet of vegetables, brown rice and boiled chicken and loves it so he is gaining weight and is now a very happy little dog. Liberace would love a home with a family who will give him lots of love, something that has been sadly missing from his life for a very long time. He is a house dog that is housetrained if there is access to outdoors via a doggy door or similar. Liberace doesn't pay much attention to the other dogs in the household. preferring to have a human to give him pats and cuddles. He has a coat that will grow and then require regular grooming to keep him looking his best.
