About Carter *On Trial in His New Home*
*CARTER IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Hi my name is Carter and I am a big, friendly, affectionate boy. I started off as a pound dog and have lived in three different homes, but still haven’t found the perfect forever home, though I am waiting very patiently - I was never naughty it was just that my families weren’t able to give me the time that I need to be a happy and healthy boy...
I love to play ball or with my squeaky toys as I am a very playful. But my favourite thing to do is swim! I love going to the river with my doggie friends and I also have a clam shell in the backyard to swim and lay down in when it’s hot. I sometimes even try and play in my water bowl if my clam shell happens to be empty! Because I love to play so much I like to be around other big dogs; I love my little dog friends too but sometimes I forget I am such a big boy and play a bit rough. I have also met cats and I am quite curious about them; I even get a little bit scared of them because I don’t know what they are, but if I was introduced to a dog-friendly cat I think we could be great mates!
Another thing I love is my food! I will eat absolutely anything (I am a bit of a guts!) and enjoy chewing on big bones to keep me busy. I will even pinch off your plate if you let me ;) But that doesn’t stop me from being a good boy because I will always wait for my food when asked - I am very clever like that! I know how to sit, lay down, wait, stay, shake hands and I come when you say my name - sometimes you have to say it more than once though because I get distracted sniffing everything in sight. I walk with a head halter and I am very very good with it - without it I pull a little bit so it would be great if I could keep using one of these in my forever home!
I am an inside, outside dog and I would really like it if I could go to a home that will let me do this too. I sleep inside on my bed in the lounge room and I never have any accidents or chew anything when my family are away. If I do need to go to the toilet I go to the back door or go up to your door to let you know it’s time for me to go. I don’t bark very much only when I get excited playing with my doggie friends.
I also love kids, but sometimes I forget how little they are when I want to play, so I think it would be best if I lived with older children, so that I don’t accidentally knock anyone over. An energetic family who will give me lots of runs and time to burn off my energy would be perfect for me - I will give you more love than you can handle and would be the best companion you could have! I would love it if I could find my forever home with someone who’ll love me as much as I’d love them :)

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
