Sparkey is a lovely man, he's gentle and affectionate and good with children. He came to us as a duty of care from a local Sydney pound as he needed a knee reconstruction. He has had his surgery and recovered and is now looking for a home to call his own.
He knows his basic commands and loves to play. He likes to run, fetch and play tug of war, but mostly he just wants to be with his people. Due to his injury he is only able to go for short walks.
Sparkey gets along fine with small dogs, but has not been tested with large dogs. Due to his knee, we would recommend a home with children primary aged and up who can understand that they need to be gentle with his knee.
Sparkey spends time inside but is not fully housetrained yet and is very happy in the yard.
Sparkey has had a knee reconstruction earlier this year. He will always walk with a slight limp on that leg and he may contract arthritis in that knee earlier than usual. However, he is a young dog and otherwise in good health. His knee does not bother him and it certainly does not stop him from playing.
He is not allowed to jump.
