About Caoimhe
Caoimhe - Irish pronunciation: Kiva, Keva or Keeva, is an Irish language feminine given name derived from Gaelic caomh meaning "beautiful", "gentle" or "precious"
Caoimhe \ is everything that her name means. She is Beautiful, gentle and precious. \ She has had a difficult life without a lot of loving and it's now her time to be adored. Caoimhe suffers from Dry Eye and requires twice daily application of ointment to one of her eyes. This combination can make her a little unsure when you go to pick her up to give her a cuddle but once in your arms she melts into your soul and fills your heart with happiness and the reward that a dogs love can only offer.
Whilst in foster care she has enjoyed the spoiling and relishes in her routine of weekly bathes, daily combing of her crest and paws and lots of cuddles and play. She is happy to follow you around or just snooze on a comfy chair with or without you. She enjoys the company of little Bare and her role as mentor and teacher and is gentle and enthusiastic with other furbabies. She approaches other animals including cats, social ably and would suit a home with other animals, she is gentle and will wait for their acceptance to play, if the cats tell her to leave them alone – generally she listens to them and finds a peaceful place to sit and observe.
Caoimhe loves visit to the park, a trip to the local cafe to sit on your lap and watch the passes by or visits to the beach, being slipped into something warm and comfortable (her pyjamas aka onesie” each night is a delight and appreciated by Caoimhe. \ You would go a long way to find a dog as special as Caoimhe – she is that one of a kind, kind of girl!
Being an older girl, she is starting to slow down now, and her eye sight and hearing aren't quite what they once were, but she is otherwise a healthy girl who is really looking for a wonderful, loving retirement home where she will get the love and attention she sadly lacked for most of her life.
Caoimhe was an outside dog prior to coming into care, so she's still working on her house training and her new family will need to be dedicated to working with her on this, as she is looking to be essentially an indoor only dog now.
Older dogs like Caoimhe might not be everyone's first thought for a pet, but the love and devotion an older pet has to offer is second to none and Caoimhe is so deserving of being spoilt and treated like a princess for the rest of her days!
Caoimhe is in care with another little Crestie (http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/303312) who is also looking for a home and we're happy to take applications for the 2 girls together, if you're looking to adopt a pair!
