About Shadow Charna (On Trial 2/7/14) (female kelpie)
Who's a gorgeous gal? Shadow is! She is a 3 year old kelpie x. She is well trained and very clever. She knows commands such as sit, shake, down and drop. \ She LOVES loves loves to play fetch. She loves it so much that you have to hide her ball so she will eat her dinner! She is extremely agile and loves to jump high to catch the ball. This means she will need good 6ft fences to avoid her being able to jump over them, although she hasn't tried that as yet.
Shadow pulls on the lead at the beginning of her walk (like most dogs) but settles into her stride quickly, she knows to walk on the left of you and if you happen to get her on the right side, she will go back to being on the left without being told. Generally when walking she does not bark at other dogs unless they are a big dog and she is feeling threatened.
Shadow's coat is sleek, soft, and a beautiful jet black. It's also low maintenance and doesn't shed much.
Shadow likes to be inside at night and will need to go to a home where she will be welcome to come inside and be a member of the family and sleep inside. She is well trained so it's not a problem. Shadow will best suit an active family or person who will take her for a daily walk or run. Shadow would be an excellent partner for dog sports such as agility. She would love the challenge and enjoy the bond formed between owner and dog while doing this.
She is great with children but she might accidently knock over a small child when running for her ball so she's not suited to children under 8.
Shadow is an all round great dog who would quickly become your very best friend and bring lots of happiness to your home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
