About Sam Winchester (On Trial 4/7/14)
Sam is a 5yo, Shih Tzu x and cute as a button. He is playful and great with kids and also with other dogs of all sizes. Sam is very smart and a quick learner. He loves to go for a walk. He will chase cats but lives with 3 and is curious about them not aggressive.
Sam has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Sam's ideal home: He must have another small, friendly dog for company. If you don't already have a dog you might want to consider Sam's foster friend Dean who is also available for adoption. Sam would be ok in a home with children as he is very tolerant and gentle with them. Of course children should be supervised around any dog. Sam is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.
Sam was named after Sam Winchester from the Super Natural books because he has "melt you in an instant" eyes. He is a polite, loving, and sweet boy and will be an ideal companion.
For more information or to meet Sam, please contact his foster carer Victoria on 02-4937-5069 or 0438-640-193 or email vdavies93@gmail.com. Sam is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW (north of Newcastle).
Sam's adoption fee is only $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
