About Mally good with kids, dogs, elderly gentle soul
You have to meet this big boy to appreciate just how gentle and loving he can be!
I watched him swan around our vets one day, saying hello to everyone in the waiting room, young, old and frail...paws alike, both cats and dogs of all sizes. Nothing seemed to phase Mally one bit.
He walked over to an elderly lady with a walker, rested his head on her lap and waited for her tp pat him, no joke, it was so touching.
Mally has a something extra special about him. Whether he has been here before, or is very wise for his age, we just don't know.
Mally is a 5 yr young Great Dane x Pointer male. He is currently in foster care with a lovely lab female and young children 4yrs plus.
Mally will need another paw for company, as he loves to hang with people or dogs. Walks well on lead, once he is use to all the new sights and sounds.
He knows how to use a doggy door, and once settled in, is house trained.
He loves his food, and is more than happy to share it with other paws.
Mally is learning to fetch, is gentle on release.
He is definitely an indoor couch potato, if you let him. Otherwise his a big shadow that loves to follow you around.
Loves his car rides, to sit up and stare outside as the world goes by.
Mally does need further training on recall and some basic manners, if that is all he needs, it will be worth some time and effort, for the love that this guy has to give.
I love how he has a quirky cute sound, if you pat his head and scratch under his chin at the same time, he speaks to you...as if to say "more please, I really really love this"...
His foster mum thinks he is a "bit of a princess"...I think he is just precious.
Mally is not suited to a family with Cats or Live stock

Medical notes
Mally has pressure sores, called hygroma on 2 of his knees. These are just fluid filled pockets from sleeping and sitting on hard surfaces, so he will need some gentle loving and a soft warm bed to get over these with time. Heat packs and massaging will speed up the process.
Its fair to say that he has had it rough for his life, but he is so worth the love, as he has so much more sweet loving to give back!
