About Buddy
Introducing Buddy! At 11 months old this golden boy is looking for a new family to spend his life with.
Buddy was 8 months old when he broke his front leg and was faced with the prospect of euthanasia as his owner was unable to afford the treatment. He was surrendered to the clinic but by the end of the day Buddy had worked his charm and the decision was made to keep him until his leg was mended. Buddy was a terrific patient and his leg has healed well. He still has the occasional limp after exercise but this should improve as his muscles strengthen and he becomes re-accustomed to life as a four-legged dog.
He is a unique young boy who never fails to put a smile on the faces of people he meets. He often shows his love by reaching up for a hug or flashing a smile.
Buddy is great with other dogs and gets on well with the clinic cat that he has shared his home with. He is a very energetic, intelligent dog and relishes human company. He loves people, both males and females, and has never shown any sign of aggression (even despite the poking and prodding associated with veterinary treatment). He is cage and chain trained and travels well in the car. He is a bit boisterous on the lead but has responded quickly to the basic training that has been put to him.
He would be best suited to a home with another dog who he can play with, however would cope as a single pet as long as the time was put into him. He is a farm boy at heart but would do okay in a suburban environment as long as he was well exercised and entertained. He requires someone who can offer consistency and put the time into continuing his training.
Buddy has touched many lives during his stay at the hospital but now needs someone to offer him the life he deserves. With consistency and some TLC he will make a beautiful pet and a loyal companion.
Buddy is located in Apsley, in Western Victoria (near Horsham).
