Cruze *On Trial in His New Home*

*CRUZE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NOW MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Meet Cruze! He’s a clever young boy who already knows how to sit, drop and shake plus he’s fantastic around kids, cats and other dogs – he’s what we call a terrific all-rounder! He’s looking for a new forever home after misplacing his old one; will it be with you???

Loveable Cruze has been through a lot so far in his short life – he arrived in Mildura via Broken Hill pound, which is where he’d ended up through no fault of his own. He then had to have surgery to have both his cherry eyes corrected (please see before & after photo), while being desexed at the same time and then he needed to wear the “cone of shame” for nearly 3 weeks while everything healed, but through it all he’s remained his loyal and loving self even learning the new name we gave him as we had no idea what his previous name was.

Cruze is friendly and affectionate without being yappy or ‘in your face’ and has settled in well into foster care where he’s enjoying spending time with his carer’s 3 school age children. He has such a sweet-nature; it’s sometimes hard to believe he’s really still a pup at only 8-9 months of age which is what our vets have guesstimated him as although get him playing with some toys or another playful dog and then you’ll see his puppy side come out – he’ll even woof-talk to you when he’s really excited!

While in care this happy-go-lucky boy enjoys going for walks – he’s good on a lead and he also travels well in a car. Unlike a purebred Shar-Pei Cruze has a lovely soft, shiny coat which will only need the occasional bath to keep it looking good. His foster carer found a few purple Pei spots on his tongue which is really cool too! We think he may be crossed with a small Labrador or something similar making him a nice, compact, medium sized dog when fully grown. He totally thrives on human companionship and loves to be near you either inside or outside the home so it’s a bonus that he’s fully housetrained although the cheeky boy has taught himself how to open the screen door – lucky his foster home has a secure front yard! He does suffer from a bit of separation anxiety so would benefit from a canine companion if you’re away for much of the day. Secure fencing, bones to chew on and lots of love and cuddles will make Cruze very happy indeed!
