About Nala (On Trial 15/7/14) ~ gentle girl
Nala is a red Australian Cattle Dog around 2 years of age, a very pretty girl with a lovely face, a sweet nature, and a determination to please. Since she has been at her foster-carer’s house she has regained her confidence (after being in the pound) and is a happy dog who is eager to please. She watches everything you do, and is very obedient. She hasn’t had obedience training, but like many cattle dogs she is intuitive and seems to know what you are asking of her.
She will be a terrific dog for a family, but needs a home where she is included in the comings and goings of everyone, rather than a situation where she is often left alone for long periods. Nala is very people-orientated, and constantly seeks your company, so even being left with another dog doesn’t compensate for not being with you. She is a wonderful companion.
Nala lives with other dogs at her foster-carer’s house and is mixing well with large and small breeds. She loves to play and wrestle with some of the larger dogs, or to chase them around the yard.
Her very favourite thing in life is spending time with her owner, but the next best is chasing a ball. She LOVES it, and she brings it back and drops it in your lap, ready and waiting to chase it again. She also rates chasing flies as a pretty good sport – quite useful in summer when there’s no one around to throw a ball.
Nala has become accustomed to travelling in a car without any difficulty. She hasn’t had a lot of exposure to children whilst at her foster-carer’s house but didn’t show any aggression towards them when they visited. We’re not sure how she will go with cats, but she does like to chase off any birds that are cheeky enough to land on her lawn, so perhaps cats might not be welcome either.
So if you are looking for friendly, smart, and loyal friend, Nala might be the girl for you. If you would like to meet Nala, or to find out more about her, please phone her foster-carer Lynda, after 7pm Monday to Wednesday, or any time other days on 02-4987-1213, or text 0401264514.
Nala is in foster care in near Raymond Terrace, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Nala's adoption fee is only $300 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
