About Einstein (On Trial 21/8/14)
Einstein, or Big Al as he is affectionately known, is a sweet-natured, male, 2 year old Kelpie X. He really is a clever boy. He has had basic training and responds well to food rewards and praise. He will come when called and sit on command. When walking he will sit on command before crossing and wait until told to cross. He has improved incredibly on the lead and my 12 year old son has no trouble walking him. Einstein would benefit from further obedience training, and seems like it and would absolutely love the challenge. He is very agile, and would love nothing better than running and leaping in a yard with plenty of space.
Big Al loves to chase a ball or Frisbee, and chases the water from the house with delight. He is really great with playing ball as he will drop the ball close to you to ensure you throw it again, and again, and again!
Einstein is extremely friendly with other dogs and all people. His ideal forever home would be with an active family with a large, fully fenced yard. He wouldn’t like to escape as he likes to be near to his food source. He is not a fussy eater, and will even drop his bone for you if you ask. He loves his sleep and whenever he is inside he can generally be found on his bed snoozing. He loves family time in the evening and knows how to use his gorgeous eyes for pats and affection. He is fully house trained. When he needs to go outside he will find us and whimper as a signal. He really is a very clever dog!
He has been a delight to have in our house, and has impressed all those he has met. We will be sad to see him go but very happy to know he will be going to a good home.
Einstein was very reluctantly surrendered by his previous owners due to lack of rental opportunities for people with dogs. He was surrendered with his lovely sister Abby. They are wonderful together but are fine to be separated so they can be adopted together or separately.
For more information or to meet Einstein, please contact his foster carer Julie on 0423 056 673. Einstein is in foster care in Valentine, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle).
Einstein's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
