About Buddy the Jack Russell (On Trial 22/7/14)
Buddy is a bubbly, 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier. He is an exceptionally, happy and bouncy boy. His joyful attitude rubs off on everyone around him. He loves to play, particularly tug-of-war, chase, and wrestling with other dog friends. He likes to be wherever the action is. He loves exploring and playing outside but he also likes to hang out inside with you. He is also a very snuggly young dog. As soon as he gets sleepy he becomes very placid and cuddly. He will happily curl up next to you on the lounge.
Buddy’s enthusiastic nature means he can't concentrate on training for very long, but when he does he is smart and tries very hard to do what you ask. He loves his food so responds well to reward based training. When he gets excited he does jump up so that can be a topic for some training. Being a young dog he needs to be provided with plenty of toys and other things that he is allowed to chew. We always recommend dog training classes so you can teach your family member to have good manners.
Buddy is capable of digging under fences, so his furever family's yard will need to have concrete or pavers or something solid at the base of the fenceline. He would also suit a large courtyard style yard.
Buddy’s ideal home would be able to give him the attention he needs. He is an active young boy who needs interaction with his people in the form of walks, training, playtime and cuddles. He needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. He is great with other dogs and really likes company so having another playful dog is highly recommended.
Buddy is a gorgeous, animated young boy who livens up wherever he is. He is such a great happy, loving little character, he will make a fantastic addition to the home he goes to.
For more information or to meet Buddy, please contact his foster carer Karen on 0447 669 402. Buddy is in foster care in Mannering Park, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle).
Buddy's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
