Male Chicken
I've been adopted!
Melman was rescued from the pound, when he didn't have a lot of feathers and was very young. In the many months he has been at our shelter, he has grown magnificent plumage, and shown what an intelligent man he is. In comparison to other roosters, he does not crow loudly or often. He has worked out how to open latches and is cunning. He is great with the females, although largely disinterested in them, which is good if you have older girls you don't want harassed all the time. However, he will kill other roosters, and should never be mixed with them. We believe he may have been bred for cock fighting, so any potential home needs to be very aware of this.
